AquAsZero, EU FP7 project for SMEs

 

The aim of AquAsZero project is the development of an amorphous nanoporous ferric oxy-hydroxide, which presents improved As(V) adsorption capacity compared to competitive commercial products, incorporating also Mn4+/Mn3+ which provide great enhancement of As(III) oxidation and in turn adsorption. This low-cost material will be used as the adsorbent media in new water treatment plant or as the media that will replace conventional adsorbents in existing water treatment systems. AquAsZero project primarily impacts on the chemicals market for arsenic removal and secondly, on the water treatment systems manufacturers.
